AstroWorkshops 

If you're wanting to get into Astronomy or make more use of your camera in photographing the nights sky but don't know where to start? Our workshops are designed to give you an astronomy and astrophotography starting point at any budget.

 

As well as discovering more of the West Yorkshire moor, you'll be able to find your way around the nights sky and also get to know your camera and the basics of how to process your photos to give them that WOW factor. the best way to start the new year and burn off those Christmas calories!

 

Our Hebden Bridge workshops run from the Robin Hood Inn, Pecket Well. We recommend you get there early and enjoy amazing freshly prepared food and drinks!

Do I need a Camera 

Do I need a Camera 

ideally a DSLR but a bridge or normal digital camera is fine, something where you can make adjustments to the settings. Make contact if you're unsure and we can advise you. We do have a couple of spares but these are on a first come first served basis.

Do I need to be fit

For the Hebden Bridge workshop we will be walking along rough ground and there are parts which are steep but these are not long, someone of moderate fitness will be capable. 

For the Hathersage Weekend, there is a short path from the car park to the viewing points that are uphill but not steep and short. The Tan Hill Adventure is accessible for all, during the day you can explore as much as your fitness allows.

What if the weather is cloudy

If the weather I cloudy, event will go on as normal. we will only cancel if it is deemed unsafe according to the Met office. For the Hathersage Weekend we have the capability to chase any clear skies across the Peaks.  

What else do I need

As well as your camera and tripod, we'll be outside as much as possible so good boots, preferably walking boots, a water proof and wind proof coat, layers, a head torch, if you have a red filtered one all the better but we have some filters for you if not,money for food and drinks, any medicinal needs, personal insurance cover and your adventurous side!
